Silvio Paredes studied fine arts in the 80es and was an integral part of the concept art movement in his native Chile. His musical trajectory has to a large degree been shaped by his desire to transfer aspects of this art-form into his musical work, his bands and his releases.

Self-taught, Silvio is a reference point on electric bass and the Chapman Stick not only in his home country, but in all of Latin America. In particular the Stick has been his main instrument since he started playing and he combines it with an array of electronic devices.

Boasting an extensive trajectory, Silvio has been a seminal part of several of the Chilean music scene’s mainstays. His trio Los Mismos was the first electronic group to mix electronics with electrical instruments in a playing style similar to that of a rock band, and Silvio co-founded the still active cult band Electrodomesticos that blends industrial rock with electronica. His fusion of elements from jazz, rock and hip-hop with electronica has been released on four albums, featuring guest performances by outstanding musicians such as DJ Raff, Solo di Medina and DJ Bitman as well as the highly successful indie-pop artist Javiera Mena.

Silvio first released as solo artist was Kau (2010), followed by Poptronics (2015). In 2016 came out the Poptronics Remixes album and next November 2017 he will release his new album entitled “ Raven’s Diary” whose energetic music accompany him on his re-location to the UK, his new musical endeavour.

With studies in architecture and a degre in design from the Catholic University of Chile, Hugo Espinosa Chellew under his aliases Mika Martini and Frank Benkho, has developed his artistic abilities in areas such as 3-D animation, video clips, traditional graphic design, multimedia design, web design and electronic music.

Under the alias of Mika Martini, Espinosa initiated a musical solo project at the beginning of 2004 with the firm objective of rescuing and mixing sounds from the Chilean ethnic background with abstract elements, linked to the techniques of “microsampling” and the “minimal” current. He thus developed a parallel work more linked to experimental music and electronic improvisation.

In 2005 Espinosa co-founded Pueblo Nuevo Netlabel, a platform of diffusion that has converted itself through 10 uninterrupted years of operation into an active promoter of both Espinosa’s own musical work as well as that of many other Chilean and foreign composers.

In 2011, under the new alias Frank Benkho, Espinosa continued exploring and advancing improvisation with machines in real-time and through the use of similar instruments, wherein the manipulation of sound objects with different characteristics – old tube frequencies generators (oscillators), a toy keyboard, light and voice-sensitive equipment – is recorded and repeated, creating melodies and atmospheres with varying intensities, which can range from the melodic end of pure noise.

Frank Benkho has performed in Festival Re-new (2011, Copenhague), Galería NIU (2011, Barcelona), Centro Cultural La Cúpula (2011, Córdoba), 10 Bienal de Video & Artes Mediales (2012, Santiago),

Festival Cruces Sonoros (2012, Santiago), Concierto Exploradores del Sonido III (2015, Michigan University, Ann Arbor, USA), among others.
